HOW TO APPLY FOR DUKE UNIVERSITY ADMISSION

SCHOLARSHIPS FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS  AND FINANCIAL AID OFFERED IN DUKE UNIVERSITY 

1: MERIT SCHOLARSHIPS

All students are automatically considered for merit scholarships when they apply to Duke. There's no separate application for merit scholarships generally. The two exceptions are the Robertson Scholarship and Nakayama Scholarship.

Our office (The Karsh Office of Undergraduate Financial Support) offers only need-based aid. Merit scholars are selected by the Office of University Scholars and Fellows.

2: MPOWER Financing (for International and DACA students)

At MPOWER, we’re experts in international student loans and financing because we’ve been there — and now we want to be there for you. We offer scholarships for students attending an eligible U.S. or Canadian college or university

3: GATES MILLENNIUM SCHOLARSHIP 

The Gates Millennium Scholars (GMS) program, established in 1999, is a 1.6 billion dollar initiative funded by grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

The Goal:

The goal of the GMS program is to promote academic excellence and to provide an opportunity for outstanding minority students with significant financial need to reach their highest potential by:

Reducing financial barriers for African American, American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian Pacific Islander American and Hispanic American students with high academic and leadership promise who have significant financial need.

Increasing the representation of these target groups in the disciplines of computer science, education, engineering, library science, mathematics, public health and the sciences, where these groups are severely underrepresented.
